There is one special day each year that is dedicated and set aside to express love to one’s spouse, friend, family, etc. usually by giving out gifts and an unprecedented show of affection.

Some may prefer customized dates others will rather have dinner at home or spend time visiting the home of the elderly, the orphanage, the home of the disabled children, destitutes and homeless.

However one chooses to commemorate this day, the legal community wishes to join million of others to celebrate the St. Valentine’s Day. On this day of love, I urge lawyers notwithstanding their ethnic group to show true love amongst one another.

Love as defined by the Advanced Learners Dictionary is ” a very intense feeling or liking of deep affection for somebody or something”. The Holy bible in John 4: 7 – 8 described God as Love; and characterized love to be patient, kind, not boastful , doesn’t keep record of evil wrongs but rather rejoices with the truth, protects, trusts, hopes and preserves, and most of all Love never fails – 1st Corinthians 13: 4 – 8.

On all counts, its imperative that we exemplify love as informed by God to be a guiding principle in our action/inaction as this would make the world a better place to live in.

Love is the greatest of all, Happy Valentine’s Day.
