The Continuing Legal Education and Knowledge Exchange Committee of the Nigerian Law School February 2012 Call Set is set to host an October 2026 webinar focusing on data privacy and protection in Nigeria and the evolving role of legal practitioners in the field.

The virtual programme, themed “Data Privacy & Protection in Nigeria: The Role of Lawyers,” will hold on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. WAT via Google Meet.
Organisers said the webinar is designed to deepen lawyers’ understanding of Nigeria’s developing data privacy and protection landscape, the responsibilities of legal practitioners and the professional opportunities emerging from the sector.
The programme will be hosted by Tosan B. Onwubiko, Chairman of the Nigerian Law School February 2012 Call Set.
Ebenezer Egwuatu, Esq., Chairman of the CLE & Knowledge Exchange Committee, will serve as Convener, while Ifiokobong Uko, Esq., a Data Protection Consultant, will feature as the guest speaker.
Also participating in the programme is Lawrence S. Ayewa, Alternate Chairman, while Safiya Mohammed will serve as Moderator.
According to the organisers, data privacy has become a growing legal frontier, making it increasingly important for lawyers to understand the applicable legal framework, their professional responsibilities and the opportunities available in the field.
“Data privacy is a growing legal frontier. Understand the law, the role of lawyers & the opportunities ahead,” the organisers stated in the programme announcement.
The webinar is expected to provide participants with insights into the legal and regulatory dimensions of data protection in Nigeria, while examining how lawyers can contribute to compliance, accountability and the protection of personal information in an increasingly digital society.
The programme forms part of the October 2026 edition of the webinar series organised by the CLE & Knowledge Exchange Committee of the Nigerian Law School February 2012 Call Set.
