Templars Senior Partner, Mr. Olumide Akpata has called for the establishment of more partnership-style law firms in Nigeria, which he described as the way forward.

Mr. Akpata was speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion of the unveiling of a new Partnership – LAW FREIGHT ATTORNEYS at their offices in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday 19th February 2020.

Law Freight Attorneys is the brainchild of six lawyers who recently came together to form the partnership.

According to him, the top law firms in the world are partnerships and part of the benefits of partnerships include enabling lawyers to pool resources and competencies to meet the multi-faceted nature of modern transactions and disputes, and the demands of sophisticated clients in the 21st century.

He stressed that a lot can be achieved through partnerships and that Nigerian lawyers can certainly benefit from the synergies that partnerships give especially in the area of facilitating the attainment of specialisation in different practice areas by the partners.

The new law firm is incidentally coming in the same year that Templars Law is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Mr. Akpata therefore used the occasion to announce the start of a law firm mentor-relationship between Templars Law and Law Freight Attorneys and also promised to extend same gesture to other budding law firms.

Also in attendance at the event were the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, O. C. J. Okocha, SAN, MFR; Chairman NBA Port-Harcourt Branch, Mr. Sylvester Adaka; past Chairman NBA Port Harcourt Branch, Mr. Omubo Victor Frank-Briggs; and a host of other guests.
