Today is significant for the message of love it upholds. The bar at this time in history needs it more than ever before.

The assaults on lawyers, the judiciary and the Justice System now are unprecedented. The safety of lawyers in the line of duty and off-duty has taken a worrisome dimension.

While we may not have the power to prevent assaults against the citizens and lawyers, we will be powerful in keeping ourselves safe and safeguarding our profession from hostile interference if we unite in love.

On this Valentine’s Day, as we celebrate in our different ways, we should spare some thought for the profession, resolve to love ourselves more and close ranks for the general good of our dear profession.

Today is a great day. May we all celebrate and preserve the essence for which we mark it. Love.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
