Former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, has paid glowing tribute to mothers across all walks of life, describing them as the silent architects of justice, love, and nation-building.

In a heartfelt Mother’s Day message shared on Sunday, Akangbe lauded the resilience and quiet strength of women, particularly those who balance professional demands with family responsibilities, often without recognition.

“Today, I honour the women whose strength is often quiet, but never small. The mothers who lead without fanfare, nurture without pause, and sacrifice without applause,” Akangbe stated.

He emphasized that Mother’s Day should not merely be a celebration but a moment of deep appreciation for the irreplaceable role women play—from homes to courtrooms, markets to boardrooms.

“We do not just celebrate mothers. We acknowledge their unmatched power to build nations in the quiet of homes, to shape justice through the lens of compassion, to hold the weight of families, dreams, and destinies—and still rise with grace,” he said.

Addressing mothers in the legal profession, Akangbe commended their fierce love, selfless service, and unwavering daily commitment. “You are not just the backbone, you are the breath, the heartbeat, the compass,” he added.

He concluded by thanking mothers for being the “first teachers of fairness” and “the original custodians of courage.”

“Happy Mother’s Day,” Akangbe said, rounding off what has been described as one of the most moving tributes in recent years.
