Former Minister of Aviation and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a scathing response to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang following a reported rejoinder from the governor over the Israeli Ambassador’s recent visit to the state.

In a strongly worded statement shared on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode accused Mutfwang of lacking leadership and failing to confront the spate of killings in his state, while being preoccupied with writing what he described as a “feeble rejoinder” to his earlier criticism.

“My aide just briefed me about your response to me and though I did not have time to read it he briefed me about its contents,” Fani-Kayode began, addressing Mutfwang directly. “I am glad you read my short note… I trust that you got my point. I kept it simple, short, polite & sharp because I really didn’t want to hurt your feelings.”

Fani-Kayode noted that despite his earlier restraint, he now intends to “dedicate more time” to Mutfwang and will write “a full essay” that will be “much more clinical.”

He accused the governor of being “weak and cowardly,” claiming he does not understand the gravity of the security situation in Plateau State.

“Your people in Plateau state are being slaughtered and you are busy writing feeble rejoinders to me? Don’t you think you have bigger problems than that?” he asked.

Referencing former governor Simon Lalong, Fani-Kayode asserted that security was better managed under the previous administration. “When Sen. Lalong was Governor… the killings were minimised because he understood the nature of the terrorists,” he said, adding that Lalong recognized “the danger in associating with foreigners that are more interested in dividing us than uniting us.”

He went further to accuse Mutfwang of hosting “the enemies of humanity that are killing women & children in Gaza,” referring to the Israeli delegation. “You inflicted a spiritual wound on yourself by welcoming genocidal maniacs & child-killers to your table,” he said.

Fani-Kayode maintained that while he supports those who confront terrorists, he has no tolerance for leaders who “treat them with kid gloves.”

He warned the governor against trusting foreign governments, particularly Israel, arguing that “such support… comes at a high price and with consequences.”

“Those that sell their soul to Satan never win & always end badly,” he said, citing Christopher Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus as a cautionary tale.

Despite the harsh words, Fani-Kayode concluded his statement with a prayer for the governor, expressing that his critique was rooted in concern for the people of Plateau.

“My prayer is that God opens your eyes sooner than later because I do not wish you ill… May He restore peace to Plateau state.”
