Spaces for Change (S4C) is a non-profit organization working to infuse human rights into social and economic governance processes in Nigeria.

Through digital crowd-sourcing, research, policy analysis, advocacy, youth engagement, public interest litigation and community action, we aim to increase the participation of Nigerian youth, women and communities in the development of social and economic policy, and also help public authorities and corporate entities to put a human rights approach at the heart of their decision-making.

–          Research, keep up to date on global and national trends, monitor policy developments and key human rights issues affecting the civic space: freedom of speech, association and assembly

–          Design and implement a wide range of research initiatives and advocacy campaigns to push back against closing civic spaces in Nigeria, and advocate for an enabling environment for civil society.

–          Lead and supporting dissemination of research findings to reach a broader and diverse audience, cutting across policy, civil society, academia, media, governmental and non-governmental entities

–          Conducting awareness-creation programs, policy dialogues with decision-makers, and outreaches in urban and rural communities to deepen civic engagement on a wide range of crucial economic, social and political issues.

–          Track and review learning from both S4C and its allies’ interventions and use insights gained to develop new programs and theories of change
