The Chairman of the Mid-west Bar Forum, Mr. Chike Onyemenam, SAN has congratulated Mr. Olumide Akpata on his swearing as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

This is contained in a statement issued by him which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL).
Meanwhile, he further congratulated Mr. John Aikpokpo-Martins and Mr. Kunle Edun as NBA 1st Vice President & Welfare Officer respectively.
“I, Chike George Onyemenam, S.A.N., on behalf of myself, the members of the executive committee, senior advocates, bar leaders, N.B.A. branch chairmen/exco. and entire members of the mid-west bar forum, hereby congratulate our distinguished president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata, Esq., our distinguished 1st National Vice-President, John Aikpokpo Martins, Esq. and our distinguished National Welfare Officer, Kunle Edun, Esq., on their swearing-in today along with others as the national officers vested with the duty of piloting the affairs of the N.B.A. for 2020-2022.” He said.
Furthermore, he stated that their emergence is a clear indication of their overwhelming acceptance by the majority.
“Your victory was a clear demonstration of your widespread acceptance by the overwhelming majority of members of the N.B.A. from the various fora that make up the association.” He said.
In addition, he further congratulated all the Branches that make up the forum.
“i equally congratulate the chairmen and members of the 14 branches of the N.B.A. that make up the mid-west bar forum for uniting behind you and speaking with one voice as they all did in 2018 and in previous N.B.A. elections.”
Finally, he prayed to God to grant the new leadership led by Olumide Akpata that strength to lead the Bar in the coming years.
“Mr. President, we pray that God almighty will grant you and the entire members of your newly sworn-in executive committee, very successful tenure in office and also pray that you run an open and all-inclusive administration with the main aim of uniting the bar, so as to enable us to stand together and speak with one voice in the defence of our democracy, particularly at these trying times,” he said.
“CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN!” He concluded.
