The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), has announced plans by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice to give junior state counsel the needed experience and exposure in specialised areas of law practice through secondment to leading private law firms within and outside Nigeria for a period of six months and below.

Onigbanjo, in a statement on Wednesday, said the state government was ready to reposition the ministry.

He was quoted to have said this at a breakfast meeting held on Wednesday for junior state counsels in the state.

According to Onigbanjo, counsels need to be more proactive in the delivery of assigned duties towards ensuring the ministry becomes a global reference among top law firms.

The meeting afforded junior counsel the opportunity to proffer suggestions and solutions that would engender a more conducive work environment.

Recall that the Lagos State Ministry of Justice recently held a three-day management retreat at Victoria Island, Lagos, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made an unscheduled visit to address the ministry’s top management.
