“It Is A Culmination Of Years Of Sacrifice”, NBA President, Maikyau SAN Congratulates 62 Successful Applicants For SAN Rank

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Y. C. Maikyau SAN has congratulated the 62 successful applicants for the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, saying it was a culmination of years of sacrifice and ambition.

In a statement sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer, the NBA President expressed how it was his pleasure to congratulate the successful applicants, many of when he knows personally and have interacted with professionally.

Speaking about the reverence and opportunities of the rank, Maikyau SAN noted thus: “Surely, to attain the lofty rank of SAN is a culmination of years of ambition, passion and sacrifice, and the elation and fanfare that follows the announcement and investiture makes the hard-work worthwhile. What is even more gratifying is the sheer privilege the rank affords the bearer.”

He emphasized that there was need for the applicants to live up to demands of the rank and redouble their efforts as legal practitioners. “It is for the sake of such privilege that a bearer, rather than be complacent, must redouble efforts as practitioner and academician, to live up to the high expectation of our professional colleagues and indeed the country.” He said.

He went on to charge them to wear their rank with decorum, dignity and character, and they must be above board in all that they do as advocates and as individuals as they become a standard through which the legal profession is measured. He emphasized that they never forget this.

On a final note, the President went on congratulate once again the applicants and members of their family. According to him, many of their families went in the professional journeys with rhem.

He noted that the SAN rank was remarkable attainment and stated that he looked forward to working with each of the successful applicants in the overall interest of the Bar, as well as welcoming them to the inner bar.
