Ask a Lawyer is a non-profit Group formed on the Whatsapp platform with over 40 Lawyers seeking to change the face of Legal Practice in Nigeria. With speciality and experience in different areas of practice, Ask a Lawyer members encourage the sharing of knowledge to build strong professional ties and drive professional development towards excellence in legal practice.

At an Exhibition at the recently concluded NBA Lagos Law Week (24th May – 27th May, 2017), Ask a Lawyer Convener, Imran Shitta-Bey, outlined its mission and vision to over 160 lawyers who visited its stand and registered for its new internet platform and social network for verified Lawyers.

Unveiling the social network www.Legalpractitioner.me , Shitta-Bey invited Lawyers to connect through the portal, share and discover legal knowledge to help improve the quality of service delivery to clients. The portal incorporates Ask a Lawyer 2.0 (ask.legalpractitioner.me), an upgraded and online version of the Ask a Lawyer Whatsapp platform.

Aside professional networking, Lawyers on the site can also interact with members of the public to provide quick answers to legal questions posed by a global audience. Apart from having personal profiles, Lawyers on the site are also able to list their Firm in the sites directory of Law Firms.

Penultimate at the event, Ask a Lawyer announced plans to take part at this year’s NBA Annual Business Law Conference scheduled to hold from 18th June to 20th June, 2017.

Other Ask a Lawyer members include Moyosore Onigbanjo, S.A.N. , Charles Adeogun-Phillips, Adebayo Akinlade, Babatunde Irukera, Norrison Quakers, S.A.N. , Tokunbo Jaiye-Agoro, Kunle Carew among others.

Founded in April, 2016, Ask a Lawyer hosted its members to a 1st Summit and Dinner in December, 2016. More recently, the Group supported 10 young Lawyers to attend a Continuing Legal Education Workshop on Legal drafting and brief writing.
