The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to dial 112 whenever they require urgent medical assistance, as the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System, NEMSAS, released emergency call centre numbers for states and the Federal Capital Territory.

NEMSAS, in an update on Wednesday, said 112 serves as a central contact number for emergency medical assistance, while several states also operate dedicated emergency lines intended to support faster responses.

According to the agency, the emergency medical response system is designed to provide rapid intervention, professional care and life-saving services, with first responders available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The agency urged Nigerians to save the relevant emergency numbers on their phones and use them whenever urgent medical assistance is required.

For Abia State, residents can call 112 or 08000000800, while those in Adamawa can use 112, 1755 or 07011111443.

In Akwa Ibom, the numbers are 112, 08000022322 and 08000022422, while Anambra residents can call 112, 5111 or 0800 220 0008.

Residents of Bauchi can call 112 or 07038636433, while those in Bayelsa can use 112 or 0800 220 0223.

NEMSAS listed the emergency call centre in Benue State as “Not Operational.”

For Borno State, residents can call 112 or 08000000033, while Cross River has 112 as its listed emergency number.

In Delta, the emergency contacts are 112, 07041008130 and 07041008131.

Residents of Ebonyi can call 112, 08086446891 or 08086445736, while those in Edo State can use 112, 739 or 09037999871.

For Ekiti, the listed contacts are 112, 08000606606, 08111111122, 08111111133, 08111111144 and 08111111155.

Residents of Enugu State can call 112, 09074996090 or 07066466429, while those in Gombe can use 112 or 07033825646.

NEMSAS listed the emergency call centre in Imo State as “Not Operational.”

For Jigawa, the listed emergency number is 112, while residents of Kaduna State can call 112 or 08064111599.

In Kano, residents can use 112, 09019999920 or 09049999914.

Katsina, Kebbi and Kogi states each have 112 listed as their emergency number.

Residents of Kwara State can call 112, 09062010001 or 09062010002, while those in Lagos can use 112 or 767.

For Nasarawa, the numbers are 112 or 08144911269.

Residents of Niger State can call 112, 08022422953 or 08155577513.

In Ogun State, residents can use 112 or 08112000033, while those in Ondo can call 112 or 08055300300.

For Osun State, the listed numbers are 112, 08111110532 and 08111110561.

Residents of Oyo State can call 112 or 615, while those in Plateau can use 112 or 09136982496.

For Rivers State, the emergency contacts are 112, 09040222281, 09040222283 and 09040222285.

Residents of Sokoto State can call 112, 07045963318 or 07071765080.

For Taraba, the listed numbers are 112, 07041122777 and 07041100777.

Residents of Yobe State can call 112, 09169981792 or 08000090009, while Zamfara has 112 as its listed emergency number.

In the Federal Capital Territory, residents can use 112, 09157892931 or 09157892932 for emergency medical assistance.

NEMSAS said the availability of both the national 112 line and dedicated state numbers is intended to strengthen coordination and shorten response times during emergencies.

The agency advised Nigerians not to wait until an emergency occurs before searching for the appropriate contact numbers, urging members of the public to save the numbers in advance.

It stressed that its first responders are positioned to provide rapid and professional assistance capable of saving lives, reiterating that 112 remains the central number Nigerians can dial for urgent medical emergencies at any time of the day.
