As the world marks Father’s Day, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe SAN, FCIArb(UK), former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, has extended heartfelt felicitations to fathers and father figures across the globe, praising their quiet strength, sacrifice, and unwavering presence.

In a statement released on Sunday, Akangbe described fatherhood as “strength wrapped in gentleness, love expressed more in action than in words,” emphasizing that being a father is not about perfection but about consistent presence and leadership.
“A father is a steady hand, a guiding voice, a quiet protector,” he said. “In a world that often demands hardness, thank you for choosing tenderness. For leading with love. For staying.”
He noted that Father’s Day is a moment to honour not just what fathers do, but who they are—pillars of love, discipline, and unwavering support.
“To every father and father figure — we see you. We thank you. You matter,” he concluded.
Akangbe’s message resonates with many as it sheds light on the deeply human and emotional side of fatherhood, encouraging society to appreciate the everyday sacrifices and profound roles fathers play in shaping lives.
