A moot and mock competition has been organised as one of the events to celebrate Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN’s 60th birthday.

In line with Chief Gadzama’s vision and goal of developing and mentoring young lawyers, the Chairman of the Mentoring Committee for young lawyers of the Body of Benchers has organised this event as an avenue to expose aspiring lawyers to the rudiments of legal practice.

The participating Universities are Nile University, Baze University and Nassarawa State University. The trial will be presided over by the Chief Judge of FCT High Court, Honorable Justice, Hussein Baba-Yusuf.

The competing students from Nile University are Obed Soludo, Oluwabusayo Ifonlaja and Olatunji Christiana who will act as the Prosecution; from Baze University, Chitachi Mayor, Harrison Adango and Dickson Omere will act as the 1st Defendant’s Counsel while Danlami Danii, Deborah Kefas, Fizzah Usman from Nasarawa State University will act as the 2nd and 3rd Defendants’ Counsel.

Those who will act as prosecution’s witnesses are: Addori Abundance, Anas Abubakar, Fatima Ibrahim, Nimyel Jessica and Hidaya Jibril, while the Defendants’ witnesses are: Jonathan Daniel, John Egwa, Abraham Ngbale

The competition will take place on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11am.
