The panel of Judges for the $100,000 Nigeria LNG Price for Science has received 29 entries for 2019 edition. This year’s entries fell short of 85 entries received by the panel in 2018.

The entries were handed over to the Chairman, Panel of Judges, Professor Deborah Ajakaiye, by Professor Alfred Susu-led Advisory Board, having received them from the Corporate Affair Manager of the Nigeria LNG Limited, Mr. Andy Odeh, yesterday in Lagos.
Speaking, Odeh said the theme for 2019 edition of the Nigeria Price for Science focused on “Climate Change: Erosion, Drought and Desertification,” in line with the vision of helping to build a better Nigeria. Besides, he said the NLNG’s prize was to celebrate outstanding research work in science with emphasis to suggest solutions to the nation’s environmental issue.
“The annual prize for science is endowed by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) to recognise outstanding scientific achievements by Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike for advancing scientific solutions to prescribed problems afflicting Nigeria as captured by the theme for the year,” he said. Susu, who also doubles as the pioneer winner of the award, said that $100,000 remuneration for winner was attractive to see Nigerian becoming a better nation.
