My deepest sympathies are with the NBA Ilorin Branch, and indeed, the entire NBA, for the death of a very committed, invaluable and respected member of the NBA – Mrs. Omolara Adetutu Aluko, who was until the sad event of her death during the early hours of today, Wednesday 5th February 2020, the vice Chairman of NBA, Ilorin Branch.

The news of Mrs. Aluko’s death stung me with great sadness, but at the same time afforded me the opportunity for a sober reflection about the transient nature of life and the need for every person to make positive impacts with this life that the creator has given unto us. The positive impacts of Mrs. Aluko’s life of service will surely be missed and I am sure that the void created by her passing is already being felt, but our consolation is that her gentle soul will continue to rest in perfect peace in the bosom of God.

I pray that God will comfort her family, friends, and all of us – who are her colleagues – during this difficult time, and also strengthen everyone that is affected by her death with the fortitude to bear this colossal loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Aluko’s family, friends and colleagues. May she continue to rest in the bosom of God forever and ever.

With sincere sympathy,

Olumide Akpata
