Leshan Dagama, a South African lifestyle influencer and adult-oriented content creator, has dismissed online criticism linking her to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, saying, “Your senator is the problem, go be mad at him. Not me.” Her remarks come after Nigerians attacked her online, blaming her for flaunting a “soft life” while many citizens face economic hardship.

Contrary to earlier speculation, Dagama is not Oshiomhole’s wife, Iara Fortes, a Cape Verdean lawyer and former model. Dagama, who is active on TikTok under the handle @leshaandagama, previously described herself on Instagram as a “professional sugar baby” and warned broke followers to “stay away.”

The controversy stems from a viral video circulating online, purportedly showing the former Edo State governor massaging the leg or foot of a woman aboard a private jet. The video gained traction amid public outrage over Oshiomhole’s recent comments that food prices in Nigeria were “too cheap,” remarks widely seen as insensitive given rising living costs.

Responding to the viral footage, Oshiomhole’s media office, led by Embassy-Oseni Momodu, dismissed the video as a manipulated AI creation, claiming it was a “poorly crafted and edited fake” designed to damage the senator’s reputation. The office pointed out glaring inconsistencies in the 30-second clip, including discrepancies around the 0.6-second mark, and insisted the footage did not depict any real event involving the senator.

The media team condemned the circulation of the video by some online platforms, specifically calling out Sahara Reporters, accusing them of prioritizing clicks and views over verification. The statement labelled the episode as criminal cyberbullying and said efforts are underway to identify the original publisher.

The incident has sparked broader discussion about elite lifestyles versus the economic struggles of ordinary Nigerians, with public figures including activist Omoyele Sowore and social media commentator VeryDarkMan weighing in. The woman in the video has been identified as a South African influencer known for adult content, with related social media posts now deleted.

Oshiomhole’s office urged the public to verify digital content before sharing and called for regulation of social media platforms to curb the spread of false or manipulated material.
