The Janada International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (JICAM) has announced the appointment of Mr. Okenwa Okechukwu Augustine, a retired Deputy Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, as its new General Manager.

Mr. Augustine assumes the role with immediate effect, bringing over 35 years of experience in Nigeria’s judiciary to the position. He is widely recognized for his leadership in court administration, legal process management, and institutional reform.

In his new capacity, Augustine will be responsible for overseeing JICAM’s operations in arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services. His appointment is expected to bolster the Centre’s mission to expand access to justice and promote peaceful conflict resolution across Nigeria and Africa.

During his distinguished service at the Supreme Court, Augustine played a vital role in enhancing institutional transparency and modernizing internal systems that supported effective case management.

“His appointment represents a renewed commitment to innovation, efficiency, and integrity in dispute resolution,” JICAM said in a statement.

The Janada International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (JICAM) is an independent ADR institution based in Abuja, Nigeria. It offers confidential, professional, and cost-effective mediation and arbitration services to individuals, corporations, and governments.

JICAM was commissioned on October 24, 2018, by Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, OFR, former President of the Court of Appeal. Its Board of Trustees is chaired by Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, OFR, a renowned legal luminary and Life Bencher.
