Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, FCIArb(UK), a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, has congratulated Mrs. Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade on her emergence as Chairman-elect of the NBA Lagos Branch.

In a message released following the conclusion of the Branch elections, Akangbe commended the newly elected executive and described the election as “keenly contested,” reflecting the energy, passion, and dedication of members of the Lagos Bar.

“As a former Chairman of this esteemed Branch, I deeply appreciate the weight of the responsibility you now carry,” he said. “Now that the dust has settled, it’s important we remind ourselves that no one lost — the Bar won.”

He urged Akingbade to adopt a leadership style that emphasizes inclusiveness, healing, and unity, stressing that such an approach would reinforce the strength and cohesion of the Branch.

“Every voice matters, and carrying everyone along will only strengthen the bond that makes our Branch truly exceptional,” he added.

Akangbe further expressed hope that her tenure would usher in “a season of reconciliation, progress, and renewed purpose,” and assured her of his full support as she assumes office.

“Congratulations once again,” he concluded.
