John Aikpokpo-Martins, former 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA-Nigeria) on the occasion of its National Executive Council (NEC) quarterly meeting, currently taking place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The NEC meeting, which runs from June 25 to 28, 2025, has brought together FIDA members from across the country to deliberate on critical issues affecting women and children in Nigeria, and to reinforce the organisation’s role in advancing gender equality and legal advocacy.

In a goodwill message shared on Wednesday, Aikpokpo-Martins praised FIDA for its tireless commitment to justice and equality:

“I wish the NEC meeting a grand success, productive deliberations, and fruitful outcomes. May this gathering strengthen FIDA’s commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of women and children, and advancing gender equality in Nigeria.”

He commended the organisation for providing free legal representation, championing the rights of vulnerable populations, and fostering public education to combat discrimination and violence.

Acknowledging the efforts of the host branch, he added:

“Special thanks to the Rivers State chapter for hosting this important meeting in Port Harcourt. I wish you all a productive and successful meeting.”

The message concluded with a spirited note of encouragement from the respected lawyer and advocate:

“Let’s Do It!”
