Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has secured full accreditation for a wide range of its academic programmes following a rigorous exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in October and November 2024.

This was disclosed in an official statement signed by Dr. Harrison Madubueze, mnipr, Public Relations Officer of the institution.

According to the statement, the results of the accreditation exercise were communicated through a memo dated April 29, 2025, from the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC.

The accredited programmes include:

  • M.Sc. in Public Administration
  • Nursing Sciences
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Physiology
  • Teacher Education in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics
  • Urban and Regional Planning
  • Medicine and Surgery

  • Statistics

Dr. Madubueze noted that this milestone reflects the University’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance across all its programmes.
