Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s ex-wife changed her name to Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer after their divorce. It has led many to believe that she has remarried to a man with the last name Schafer.
In the wake of the divorce between Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer (formerly known as Anita Oyakhilome), the latter has changed her name and is rumored to have remarried.
After marrying Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in 1991, Anita Ebhodaghe took the name Anita Oyakhilome.
After more than two decades of marriage and two children, the couple got separated in 2014 and divorced in 2016.
Shortly after the split, rumors about the two being back together surfaced, but Anita Oyakhilome put an end to those speculations in a message on her website.
However, the update from her sparked new rumors that Anita Oyakhilome had remarried since she signed the message with the name Pastor Anita Schafer.
“It has been brought to my attention that there are persistent rumors and misinformation about my marital status being circulated, and I would like to address certain reconciliation rumors with this statement. Further to the formal notification of the dissolution of marriage made by my solicitors earlier this year. Please note that this has not changed, and I am no longer a part of Christ Embassy aka Believer’s LoveWorld or any such organization in any capacity. I am reiterating this to ensure that no one is misled by the false rumors or unfounded statements that show up and are spread from time to time on the internet. Any additional statement concerning me will be issued by my solicitors, who are my legal representatives, so please do not be deceived.

Did Pastor Chris take a new wife?
The fact that Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s ex-wife used the name Anita Schafer made people discuss whether she had married a man with the last name Schafer.
Her present full name is Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer. She has not commented on the rumors about remarriage.
Some media outlets have also reported that Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has found a new wife but he has not remarried, he said.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer tied the knot in Lagos, Nigeria in 1991. Back then, the couple was not as famous as it became later on, so the ceremony was not as extravagant as many people would expect today.
Just four years before the marriage, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome founded the Christ Embassy church in Nigeria. It is also known as LoveWorld Inc.
When he married Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer, she became a minister of the church like her husband.
Among Christ Embassy members, the Oyakhilomes seemed to be a dream couple. They also had two children together, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome and Charlene Oyakhilome.
Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer – a no-show at daughter’s wedding
Like many of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s family members, his daughters have also joined Christ Embassy.
The youngest, Charlene Oyakhilome, is interested in gospel music but prefers to keep a low profile, so there is little information available about her.
The eldest, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome, is active in the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry, an arm of Christ Embassy. There, she performs under the stage name CSO.
On October 6, 2018, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome married Dutch/Ghanaian businessman Phillip Frimpong in a lavish ceremony in Nigeria.
The wedding was officiated by Pastor Benny Hinn, who is a friend of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
While Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome’s father attended the wedding, Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer reportedly did not show up.
On April 29, 2021, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome and Phillip Frimpong welcomed their first child, Arielle Rachelle-Marise, who is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s first grandchild.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a Nigerian Christian minister, founder and president of Christ Embassy, also known as LoveWorld Inc.
He is known for his evangelistic meetings and crusades, which have been held in various parts of the world, including Europe, the United States, Africa and Asia.
He is also the author of several books on Christian living and has a daily devotional guide called “Rhapsody of Realities,” which is published in over 1,000 languages and distributed globally.
