*Says “We Will Recover All That Has Been Lost”

The Founding Principal Partner J-K Gadzama LLP, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, OFR, MFR, SAN, has saluted members of the legal profession as they return to courtrooms.

Recall that courtrooms, departments, offices in all the Sectors of the judiciaries in the country were on April 6th shutdown sequel to the announcement made by the judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (“JUSUN”) for the implementation of Financial Judicial autonomy.

The learned Silk, in his statement Wednesday, made available to THENIGERIALAWYER, lauded both lawyers, Senior lawyer, Silks, judges and Clients for their supports and consistence throughout the 3 months nationwide JUSUN strike.

He stated: “I am delighted to welcome you back to the courtrooms after 3 months of inactivity!

“The previous year was a challenging one for court users. A lot of backlogs was created as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We began the new legal year with great hopes arising from the assurances that the pandemic is being managed and will hardly pose as much threat as it had the previous year.

“Well, this has not been the case as not too long within the year, we witnessed another period of inactivity. Three months outside the courtroom was surely challenging for our justice system, but I am optimistic that the sacrifices we all had to make for a better judiciary will not be in vein. I am confident that we will overcome and recover all that has been lost as a result of the JUSUN strike.

“In this spirit, I welcome you back to the courtrooms, once again, and urge you all to be mindful of COVID-19 as you move about your daily activities. Do take care and stay safe.”
