The Pan Africa Lawyers Union has congratulated Dr. Okonjo Iweala on her well-desired title as Director-General of the World Trade.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by its President, Mr. Emeka J. P. Obegolu, Esq, made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.

“We congratulate Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her confirmation as the next Director-General of the World Trade Organization. Time and time again, Dr. Okonjo Iweala has broken records in the field of economics and international development. She was the first woman to serve as the Minister of Finance in Nigeria, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and now she will become the next Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), making her the first African to occupy the position.”

The group noted that they repose a huge trust in the ability and capacity of Dr. Iweala to deliver at the international state, especially in her promise to use her position to tackle the menace of the Coronavirus plan.

“We are beyond confident that Dr. Okonjo Iweala will bring to bear her unique expertise in trade and economic expansion in her new role, as she facilitates global rules of trade between nations, and implements policies to build trade capacity…
