Billionaire businessman and former chairman of Skye Bank, Dr. Tunde Ayeni, has filed a fresh lawsuit against his ex-mistress Adaobi Alagwu and her mother, seeking to recover two high-end properties in Abuja that he says are unlawfully being occupied by the duo.

The suit, FCT/HC/CV/1282/2025, was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, and concerns properties located at DD38, Lakeview Estates, off Alex Ekwueme Way, and No. 48, Mike Akhigbe Street, Jabi, Abuja. According to Ayeni, the residences were part of temporary accommodation he provided to Adaobi during what he describes as “one of the darkest moments” of his life.

“When people refer to her as my ex-mistress, I hate to even hear it because it’s one of the darkest moments of my life. I regret ever meeting that lady,” Ayeni said in an exclusive interview.

He went on to allege that Adaobi and her mother have consistently tried to blackmail and exploit him, claiming that they are “nasty and desperate individuals” who used emotional manipulation and threats to cling to benefits.

“Initially, I tried to protect my family and reputation. But these are people who know that public figures like us are often careful with reputation and they take advantage of that. At some point, you must come out and fight your battle,” he declared.

Ayeni explained that a Customary Court ruling on March 11, 2025, had affirmed that there was no marriage between him and Adaobi and that he is not the father of her child. Following that judgment, Ayeni said he issued legal notices demanding they vacate his properties.

“If the family had any dignity, I wouldn’t need to ask twice before they vacated my homes. They’ve been served,” he said.

The businessman detailed how he had made repeated efforts to settle the matter privately — including filing affidavits, sending cease-and-desist letters, and even notifying immigration authorities — but said all his gestures were met with more blackmail.

Despite the toll it has taken, Ayeni credited his family, especially his wife and children, for standing by him.

“Even though my actions were not permissible, my family understood and we stood together to weather the storm,” he said.

Ayeni, who vowed to pursue justice to the end, emphasized that the legal action was not just about property, but about reclaiming his dignity and setting the record straight.

“It’s not about money. Sometimes, people spend a million to recover ten thousand — not because they can’t let it go, but because they need to prove they’re not fools.”

He concluded by warning that Adaobi and her mother “will not succeed in shamelessly living in and enjoying my properties” as the court process moves forward.
