The former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2010-2012, J-B Daudu, SAN, has said that the ‘Aluta’ strategy adopted by young lawyers to address the face-off between them and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is only fanning the resolve of management of CAC not to compromise its stand.

This is contained in a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL)

Daudu, SAN said one of the requisite qualities needed for the occupant of the office of NBA President is conflict management skills and it requires the maturity and experience to resolve the lingering crisis including other issues confronting lawyers.

“One of the required qualities is that of conflict management. It is not a trial by error phenomenon. At the moment the Bar is embroiled in a crisis of sort with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

The beneficiaries of the legal economy emanating from the CAC is largely the exclusive preserve of young lawyers. Now that there is a crisis, it appears that the ‘Aluta’ strategy of resolution adopted by the young lawyers is only fanning the resolve of management of CAC not to compromise its stand.

It will take the maturity and experience of a tested leader such as Deacon Dele Adesina SAN to resolve this and several other issues confronting lawyers and Nigeria as a nation.” J. B. Daudu, SAN

Recall that Daudu SAN has endorsed Dele Adesina (SAN) For president at the upcoming elections of the Nigerian Bar Association.
