The law firm of Tawo E. Tawo SAN has disclaimed its reported involvement as Counsel in the case between Prof. Zainab Duke Abiola v. Inspector General of Police.
Recall that we had earlier reported that the suit instituted by Abiola’s widow against the IGP before at the Federal High Court, Abuja, with SUIT NO: FHC/ABJ/CS/2370/2022, was filed by Tawo Tawo SAN as Counsel to Mrs Abiola.
However in a disclaimer dated 23rd January, 2023, and personally signed by the Principal Partner of the firm, Tawo E. Tawo SAN, FICMC, MICArb (UK), the firm distanced itself from the case and condemned the peddlers of the untrue report.
The firm expressed its readiness to continue to provide quality legal representation for Nigerians, but noted that it would not stand and watch it being dragged into a matter in which they have not been briefed.
He further added that the matter is under investigation as he will not allowed anybody from no where to drag the image of the firm to mud.
