A Delta State High Court sitting in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, has adjourned to March 3, 2026, for hearing in a case bordering on alleged human trafficking brought against Orewa Ekene.

The defendant, who is facing a six-count charge, pleaded not guilty when the matter came up in court and was subsequently remanded at the Agbor Custodial Centre pending further proceedings.

Court records indicated that the accused, trading under the name and style of Bolero Concepts, was arraigned for trafficking in persons contrary to Section 17(c) of the Delta State Human Trafficking (Prohibition) Law, 2024.

The prosecution also alleged that a hospitality facility, Bolero Hotel and Nightclub Agbor, was used as a base for the commission of the alleged offences.

When the case was mentioned on February 10, 2026, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice applied for an order to freeze and seal the hotel, citing its alleged use for underage prostitution as well as the consumption and distribution of illicit drugs.

In a ruling delivered on February 11, 2026, the court granted the application, ordering that the premises be sealed pending the determination of a motion on notice fixed for March 3, 2026.

The Delta State Government had earlier sealed another facility, Happy Home Children Orphanage, in December 2025 over alleged child trafficking offences committed under the guise of operating an orphanage.

The ongoing prosecution is seen as part of the state government’s intensified crackdown on human trafficking, underage prostitution, and drug-related crimes across Delta.
