Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN Emphasizes Importance Of Fostering Community, Goodwill, Inclusivity; Former NAF Director Legal Services, Ex-Borno AG, UNIMAID Alumni President Deliver Goodwill Messages

On Friday, March 6, 2026, the legal chambers of J-K Gadzama LLP made history by hosting its first formal Iftar gathering, bringing together members of the firm, distinguished friends, clients, neighbors, and family in the spirit of Ramadan. The event was marked by an atmosphere of reflection, fellowship, and celebration.

The gathering was organized to provide an opportunity for guests to observe the breaking of the fast together while also strengthening bonds within the firm’s wider community. As the time for Iftar approached, attendees participated in the traditional observance of breaking the fast, after which a variety of meals and refreshments were served.

The evening featured an abundance of food and a lively atmosphere, with guests engaging in warm conversations and enjoying moments of camaraderie.

The program also featured goodwill messages from notable guests, including Alhaji Ibrahim Shafi’i, AVM (Rtd), former Director of Legal Services of the Nigerian Air Force; Mr. Mohammed Monguno, former Attorney-General of Borno State; Alhaji Mohammed Sajo; and Ibrahim Dandija Esq. (Maidalan Misau), a former staff member of the chambers.

Also present were Prof. Shehu Mustapha Liberty, Director, Partnerships, Linkages and Alumni Affairs, University of Maiduguri; and Alhaji Baba Shettima Kukawa, President of the University of Maiduguri Alumni Association, all of whom offered words of encouragement and reflected on the significance of unity, generosity, and compassion during the Ramadan season.

Remarks were also delivered by the Principal Partner of J-K Gadzama LLP, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, the Shettima of Borno and Sardauna of Uba, who expressed appreciation for the presence of the guests and emphasized the importance of fostering community, goodwill, and inclusivity within and beyond the legal profession.

The memorable evening came to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Madu, Head of Litigation, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and attendees on behalf of the firm for honoring the invitation and contributing to the success of the inaugural Iftar gathering.
