The Managing Partner of Obra Legal LLP has held talks with the leadership of Harambee Africa International in Madrid, Spain, on possible areas of collaboration aimed at empowering grassroots communities in Nigeria.

The meeting, held on October 22, 2026, at Harambee’s head office on Diego de León in Madrid, focused on strengthening cooperation in areas including health, education, women’s empowerment and support for vulnerable groups.

In a statement following the visit, the Obra Legal LLP Managing Partner described Harambee Africa International as an organisation that has quietly built a strong presence at the intersection of health, education and human dignity across nearly 25 African countries.

According to the statement, Harambee’s development approach is guided by the principle of subsidiarity, which places local communities at the centre of initiatives designed to address their own development needs.

The visit was also aimed at expressing appreciation for the organisation’s humanitarian interventions, particularly programmes targeted at women and vulnerable groups.

“Without fanfare or rolling drums, Harambee Africa International has quietly positioned itself at the vital intersection of health, education and human dignity,” the statement said.

It added that discussions during the Madrid meeting opened new possibilities for collaboration, particularly around grassroots initiatives capable of strengthening communities in Nigeria.

The statement also highlighted the existing relationship between Harambee Africa International and Nigeria, noting that the foundation’s Vice President, Ramón Pardo de Santayana Gómez de Olea, had previously visited Eastern Nigeria, particularly Enugu, as well as Obra Legal LLP.

According to the firm, that visit helped establish the relationship that eventually led to the Madrid engagement.

The Managing Partner expressed appreciation to Gómez de Olea for helping to strengthen the connection between Harambee and Obra Legal LLP.

The leadership team that received the delegation included Harambee President Antonio Hernández Deus; Vice President Ramón Pardo de Santayana Gómez de Olea; Coordinator General Maria Pilar Cuesta González; Business Development Director Marta Chavero Escamilla; Social Media Manager Lourdes Ivorra López; and Accountant Felipe Marquez Marinas.

The statement described the meeting as an opportunity to reflect on how individuals, professionals, families and institutions could contribute to improving the lives of people within their communities.

It said the discussions reinforced a shared commitment to supporting locally driven development initiatives in Nigeria and other parts of Africa.

“From a single office in Madrid to the vibrant heart of Enugu and across the continent, Harambee continues to prove that real, lasting change doesn’t need to shout to be heard,” the statement added.
