President Bola Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.

The full membership of the council was released on Saturday by the State House in a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, formally setting up the ruling party’s campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen.

Under the structure, Senate President Godswill Akpabio was named Deputy Director-General, South I, while Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele will serve as Deputy Director-General, South II.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni was appointed Deputy Director-General, North I; Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas will serve as Deputy Director-General, North II; while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin was named Deputy Director-General, North III.

Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole will take charge of mobilisation as Deputy Director-General, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will serve as Deputy Director-General for Administration.

House of Representatives member James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, was appointed Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

Ibrahim Kabir Masari will oversee Logistics and Operations, former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari will handle Parliamentarian Mobilisation, while Minister of Works David Umahi will serve as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation.

APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, was named Deputy Secretary of the campaign council, while Hadiza Bala Usman will serve as Assistant Secretary.

The party also named zonal campaign coordinators, with Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu coordinating the South-South, Ndubuisi Mbah the South-East, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the South-West, Niger State Governor Umar Bago the North-Central, Modu Sheriff the North-East and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani the North-West.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was appointed Director of Finance/Treasurer, with Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Abubakar Kabir Bichi as deputies. Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, will head fundraising, assisted by Zacheus Adedeji and Farouk Gumel.

In the Election Planning, Coordination and Mobilisation Directorate, the zonal directors are Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

The Policy and Manifesto Development Directorate will be headed by Dele Alake, with Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Deputy Director and Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu as Secretary.

Former Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN, was named Director of Legal, while Dr. Liman Hassan, SAN, and Babatunde Ogala, SAN, will serve as Deputy Directors.

The Media and Strategic Communication Directorate will be coordinated by Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris Malagi, alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.

Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were appointed coordinating Deputy Directors, while Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufo will serve as coordinating secretaries.

Segun Dada was retained as Director of New Media, with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary. The council also named campaign spokespersons led by Dele Alake, alongside Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Feyisetan Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.

Other appointments cover security and intelligence, data management, contact and mobilisation, youth and women mobilisation, persons with disabilities, sports, education, manufacturing and MSMEs, faith-based mobilisation, labour relations, grassroots engagement, digital operations and welfare.

Ayodele Olawande will head Youth Mobilisation, with Dayo Israel as his deputy, while Betta Edu was named Director of Women Mobilisation. Mohammed Abba Isa will coordinate mobilisation of persons with disabilities, while Shehu Dikko will head Sports Sector Mobilisation.

Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was appointed Director of Stakeholders’ Mobilisation, with Douye Diri and Reuben Clifford Wilson as deputies. Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim was named South-East Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation, while former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola will coordinate the South-West.

The council also provides that APC governors will serve as State Campaign Coordinators in states controlled by the party, while APC governorship aspirants will coordinate campaign activities in non-APC states.

President Tinubu charged members of the council to work towards securing victory for the ruling party and directed heads of the various directorates to accommodate other party members who were not formally listed.

He urged the campaign team to make the administration’s record the centrepiece of its message to Nigerians.

“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” Tinubu said.

“We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians.”

The President further asked the campaign team to “confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation,” as the APC intensifies preparations for his re-election campaign.

The constitution of the council brings together serving governors, federal lawmakers, ministers, former governors, party officials, media strategists and figures who participated in Tinubu’s previous presidential campaign, formally moving the APC’s 2027 campaign structure into an operational phase.
