The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed uploading results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal after transmission remained unchanged for more than three hours.

The portal, which had been stuck at 3,292 uploaded polling-unit results since about 8:48 p.m., began receiving fresh uploads shortly after 11:45 p.m.

The figure subsequently rose to 3,557 out of 3,763 polling units, representing 94.53 per cent, leaving 206 polling-unit results outstanding.

Before the uploads resumed, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, had questioned the prolonged pause.

“INEC IREV uploads have been stuck for almost 2 hours now. 3292 out of 3763 results submitted and then silence. This is not acceptable!” he wrote on X.

“Why has the uploading stopped? @inecnigeria,” he added.

INEC had not, at the time of filing this report, publicly explained what caused the interruption.

IReV allows members of the public to view scanned polling-unit result sheets, while the official outcome of the governorship election remains subject to INEC’s statutory collation and declaration process.
