The Body of Benchers has announced the collection of invitation cards for aspirants to the Bar ahead of the July 2026 Call to Bar ceremony for successful candidates of the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations.

In a notice dated July 2, 2026, and signed by Fatima Idris Ali, HOD, Bar Matters, for the Secretary of the Body of Benchers, the body informed all aspirants that invitation cards for the forthcoming Call to Bar ceremony scheduled to hold from Tuesday, July 7, to Friday, July 10, 2026, would be available for collection from Friday, July 3, to Monday, July 6, 2026.

According to the notice, the collection will take place at the Body of Benchers Complex, No. 12, Y.C. Maikyau Crescent, Institution and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja.

The collection time is 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

The Body of Benchers advised all aspirants to collect their invitation cards within the stipulated period, adding that each aspirant must present his or her Nigerian Law School identification card for verification.

The notice further stated that where an aspirant is unable to collect the card within the scheduled period for genuine reasons, the invitation card may be picked up at the National Stadium on the specific date of Call from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

However, the announcement has drawn attention among some aspirants because of the short interval between the collection dates and the Call to Bar ceremony.

Some aspirants are said to be concerned that the notice, dated July 2, gives them only from July 3 to July 6 to collect invitation cards before the ceremony begins on July 7.

They also noted that many candidates are expected to travel to Abuja from different parts of the country, raising concerns over logistics, transport costs, accommodation and the possibility of missing the scheduled collection window.

A separate public notice by the Body of Benchers also confirmed that the Body of Benchers meeting preceding the Call to Bar ceremony will hold on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. prompt at the Body of Benchers Complex, Jabi, Abuja.

The notice further confirmed that the Call to Bar ceremony for successful candidates at the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations will hold from Tuesday, July 7, to Friday, July 10, 2026.

According to the notice, the ceremony will hold at the Body of Benchers Complex, No. 12, Y.C. Maikyau Crescent, Institution and Research District, FCC Phase III, behind Federal Medical Centre, Jabi District, Abuja.

The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. prompt on July 7, 8 and 10, while the session for Thursday, July 9, will begin at 2:00 p.m. prompt.

The Body of Benchers also stated that aspirants will be identified with their Nigerian Law School ID cards and will be entitled to only one guest.

The notice warned that invitation cards would not be issued before the date of Call and that any aspirant found with a duplicate invitation card would be penalised.

It also directed each aspirant and guest to assemble at the M.K.O. Abiola National Stadium for accreditation.

Accreditation for July 7, 8 and 10 will commence at 6:30 a.m. and end by 9:00 a.m., while accreditation for Thursday, July 9, will commence at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon.

Upon completion of accreditation, each aspirant and guest will be conveyed in designated buses to the Body of Benchers Complex, the venue of the Call to Bar ceremony.

The Body of Benchers stressed that timely compliance is mandatory for participation in the ceremony.

It added that only aspirants and guests who have been duly cleared in line with the stated requirements will be granted access to the Body of Benchers Complex.

The notice further stated that the event is strictly by invitation and that unauthorised access will not be granted.

The announcement is expected to guide aspirants, families and guests ahead of the ceremony, even as some candidates continue to call attention to the tight schedule between card collection, accreditation and the commencement of the Call to Bar ceremony.
