Senior lawyer, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, has expressed grief over the demise of Mr. Yinka Farounbi, former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch, who passed away recently.

In a statement on Friday, Osigwe described the late NBA chairman as a dedicated leader whose contributions will be remembered by all. He recounted that Farounbi demonstrated unwavering commitment to justice, equity and rule of law during his tenure from 2014 to 2016.

According to Osigwe, the former chairman upheld the highest standards of legal practice and served as a role model for Ikeja branch members. Beyond his chairmanship, Farounbi was a mentor and guide to many young lawyers, offering invaluable support as they started their careers.

Osigwe noted that Farounbi’s passion for law and willingness to share knowledge enriched the legal profession. He added that the ex-NBA chairman’s influence as a leader will be felt for many generations of lawyers to come.

The Senior Advocate expressed deep sadness over Farounbi’s demise while condoling with the NBA Ikeja Branch and the broader legal community. He prayed for fortitude for the late lawyer’s family to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Many lawyers have been paying tributes to the legal luminary since his passing for his contributions to legal development in Lagos state and mentoring of young professionals.
