Social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju, and former Niger Delta Militant leader, Asari Dokubo, recently had a clash on air.

This happened during a Mic-On podcast.

The discussion revolved around accusations and counter-accusations, with Adeyanju accusing Dokubo of being worse than Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group, during his time as a Niger Delta militant.

The core of the dispute emerged as Dokubo has been openly criticizing the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu and advocating against the release of the IPOB leader, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

During the intense on-air exchange, Adeyanju alleged that Dokubo recently made threats against Sim Fubara, the sitting Governor of Rivers State.

Adeyanju further raised concerns about Dokubo’s statements in the past, wherein he suggested that individuals without proper certification should be in charge of running the country’s economy. The activist expressed bewilderment at such assertions and questioned whether Dokubo would allow someone without appropriate qualifications to conduct medical surgery on him.

The clash continued as Adeyanju accused Dokubo of displaying a favorable disposition towards Tinubu, and asserted that Dokubo’s alignment with the former governor of Lagos State was due to an invitation to the Villa.

In response to the verbal confrontation, Dokubo repeatedly asked for clarification on the accusations made against him, but Adeyanju persisted with his arguments.

The confrontation between the two personalities highlights the ongoing tensions within the Nigerian political landscape and the polarizing nature of the debates surrounding prominent figures like Nnamdi Kanu and political allegiances.

The clash came into the spotlight after their exchange during the Mic-On podcast, drawing attention from various media outlets and observers across the country.

Recall how Asari Dokubo met with the President at the presidential villa in June. The Niger Delta activist has been a staunch supporter of Bola Tinubu, the former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate during the 2023 elections. Additionally, Dokubo has expressed his support for some of the president’s policies, including the removal of subsidy on petrol.

As the dust settles on this recent confrontation, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and whether further developments will arise from the disagreements expressed on the Mic-On podcast.
