He said everywhere and anywhere a lawyer finds himself in the society is his jurisdiction, a lawyer is an ambassador of the Bar and should at all times champion the corrections of social ills.
“What we find these days is that rather champion the cause for the correction of social and societal ills, lawyers get themselves involved in all sorts of practices and vices.
“A lawyer should be upright, a defender of the truth, and championing the cause of justice.
“The practice where lawyers collaborate and connive with men and officers of the Police force to defraud unsuspecting clients of their hard-earned money in the name of soliciting for bail should be condemned and the perpetrators brought to book.
“Lawyers have a duty to participate in proper direction of our social groupings and structuring and not to stand bye and watch or sit at the fence,” he added.
