I was saddened this afternoon by the news of the death of former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Kano State, Alhaji Aliyu Umar, SAN.

I write to heartily commiserate with the entire leadership and members of NBA Kano and Ungogo branches, as well as the deceased’s immediate family for this great loss.

The late Silk was known to be humble and down to earth in all his dealings. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, Kano State Government, the entire Legal Community in Kano State and the NBA.

My deepest condolences to the deceased’s family and all members of NBA Kano and Ungogo branches. I pray God to grant you the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace!
