Distinguished Colleagues,
with utmost joy, I welcome us into the new year. While we give God all the Glory for the recorded achievements, and above all, the Life we have, we ask for His Grace to surpass last year’s achievements, achieve all set milestones and accomplish all our heart desires and dreams for 2020.
The year ‘2020’ is critical in the life of our dear Association, the NBA (being an election year), therefore I urge every well meaning Nigerian lawyer to take out some time to pray for the good of our Bar, our leaders, successful transition and for a more robust promotion of the Rule of Law in Nigeria.
As we make resolutions for the new year, I urge us as lawyers to have that personal resolve to always champion the strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy by doing every little we can in defence of Rule of Law in our polity.
May the new year bring you and your entire household, unending peace, happiness and uncommon favours; and may we share more ‘Friendship at the Bar’ in this 2020 and always.
Gentlemen and Ladies, like James R. Sherman said in his book titled ‘REJECTION’, “You can’t go back now and make a new start, but you can start now and make a brand new ending…” , 2019 is gone and 2020 is in. The future starts now!
