Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has condoled with Justice Jude Kanyioh Dagat of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, Borno State over the demise of his mother.
A four-man delegation of Borno State Government, on Saturday, in Kaduna, attended the vigil mass of Lady Regina Daria Dagat, mother to the Chief Judge.
The head of service of Borno State, Barrister Simon Malgwi headed the delegation, comprising of two Special Advisers, that of Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties, Alhaji Ali Zangeri and Community Relations, Alhaji Hassan Alao Yusuf (Sarkin Yoruba of Borno), and Senior Special Assistant on Jobs Creation and Youth Empowerment, Christopher Godwin Akaba.
Before proceeding to attend the vigil mass service which held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Tafawa Balewa Way, Kaduna State, the delegation earlier visited the residence of Justice Jude Kanyioh Dagat to deliver Governor Zulum’s condolence message where prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Malgwi who also conveyed Governor Zulum’s condolence message during the well attended vigil mass, told the congregation that the delegation were in Kaduna on behalf His Excellency, the government and good people of Borno State, to condole with the family of the late Regina Dagat, the church and members of her community over the great loss.
He described the deceased as a peaceful woman who would be missed by all and enjoined the bereaved family to take solace in God.
In his funeral oration, Justice Jude Kanyioh Dagat, on behalf of the family, described their mother as an embodiment of humility and forthrightness and a devout Christian of the Catholic Church, whose outspokenness, sincerity and courageousness were unparalleled.
