Mrs Destiny Andetur, widow of the late former Chief Justice of Taraba State, Justice Philibus Andetur, has petitioned the state Commissioner of Police over alleged threat to her life and trespassing of her late husband’s properties.

Our reporter gathered that crisis began when relatives of the late former Chief Judge postponed his burial ceremony without the knowledge of his wife.

In a letter addressed to the state Police commissioner, the widow through her lawyer, Joshua Jeremiah, revealed that the family members of her late husband have occupied her apartment.

She also alleged that they have disrupted her personal activities and denied her relatives entry to the property to mourn with her over her husband’s demise.

the wife is legally married to the late Chief Judge, while also acknowledging that the late Chief Judge, was not in good terms with the members of his family until his demise in 2024.

“Our client was married to his Lordship, late Hon. Justice Philibus Andetur, until his death in 2024,” the letter said.

The widow alleged that those behind her ordeal relocated her apartment after the demise of her husband.

The petition also stated that some family members have been threatening the widow, asking her to hand over the documents of the late Chief Judge.

It equally stated that the said family members have forced her to withdraw, and hand over to them, over N1 million from her late husband’s account.

The widow, in the letter, urged the Commissioner of Police to compel the family members to stay away from her apartment, and move the burial arrangements to the late Chief Judge’s other property in Nukkai, and allow her to properly mourn her husband.

Several attempts by our reporter to get the comments of the family were not successful.
