WHAT THE LAW SAYS ABOUT “APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN OF NSITF MANAGEMENT BOARD.
Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) was created for benefit of employees/workers across Nigeria. The Fund is managed by NSITF Management Board. The Chairman of the Management Board must be appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the recommendation of the Minister for Labour. Hence, it is the Minister for Labour that shall recommend to the President, a person to be appointed as Chairman of NSITF Management Board. Note that the same Minister determines the remuneration and allowances to be paid to members of the Management Board and any letter of resignation by a member goes to the same Minister.
