Delta State Cattle Dealers’ Association yesterday disassociated itself from Miyetti Allah.

Speaking yesterday in Asaba, Chairman of the association, Alhaji Musa Adamu Shua, said the association has no connection with weapon wielding herders.
According to Adamu, “After the public hearing at the House of Assembly on Monday, 25 July 2021, I saw a piece of news on 26 July 2021 stating that we are part of Miyetti Allah. We are not cattle rearers, there is no relationship between our association and Miyetti-Allah. We do not have any relationship with herdsmen”.
While noting that the cattle dealers have operated peacefully in the state, he pleaded with the government to give them land to do their business.
Meanwhile, counsel to the association, Habeeb Lawal, lamented the report that labelled the association as Miyetti-Allah.
He disclosed that the association has members who cut across different tribes, “amongst them you have indigenes and Yoruba dealers.
“The whole essence of the law against the ban on open grazing is to tackle anyone whose cattle is causing havoc,” he asserted.
