*Sunday Igboho: I will not blame anyone for my burnt house yet

Oyo State Police Command has disclosed that unidentified hoodlums are responsible for the burning of Sunday Igboho’s house at SOKA area of Ibadan.

The Police noted that the hoodlums came to the house in the early hours of Tuesday in a Hummer bus and Micra firing sporadically, and later set the house ablaze.

A statement by the Police Public Relation Officer of the Command, Gbenga Fadeyi said that the mini sitting room of the house got burnt in the process while amount of other properties burnt is yet to be estimated.

“Immediately the DPO Sanyo got wind of the incident, he contacted Fire service while he also went to the scene for on the spot assessement.

Fadeyi however said that the fire was eventually put out and investigation has commenced into the incident while the Police is on the trail of the hoodlums.

Recalled that, several houses belonging to the Seriki Fulani of Oyo State, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, were allegedly set on fire by aggrieved youths in Igangan community of Ibarapa zone of Oyo State, on Friday night after the visit of Sunday Adeyemo (aka Sunday Igboho) to enforce his seven-day quit notice to the Fulani herdsmen in the area.

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has said he is not ready to blame anyone yet for the fire that razed his house in Ibadan early Tuesday.

Speaking to Peoples Gazette, Igboho said he will rather wait for investigation to be concluded on the fire incident before speaking on it.

He however expressed appreciation to God that nobody was consumed in the fire incident.

“I cannot blame anyone right now for the attack, not even Fulani people,” he said by telephone hours after the attack.

“We have to thank God that nobody was killed, it is more important,” he told the Peoples Gazette.

Igboho said he moved out of the house located in Soka area of Ibadan that was gutted by fire at about 3am today about a year ago to another house also in the area.
