*Claims She’s Still Locked Out Of Law School

A law graduate known as @King_folake on Twitter from Redeemer’s University has spoken out about ongoing accreditation issues that have derailed her career.
@King_folake claims she was given “the illusion” that the law program was fully accredited by the university. However, since graduating over two years ago, she has been unable to attend Nigerian Law School due to the program’s lack of accreditation.
“We paid for law school training because we believed that it would only be a couple of months before we got into law school. And now it’s 2024,” @King_folake tweeted yesterday.
With no clear path forward, @King_folake says she is unemployed, confused and dealing with mental health issues due to the situation. The university has also failed to communicate with her or offer any apologies, guidance or solutions.
“Imagine putting in so much work for 5 years, only for your degree to be collecting dust on a shelf,” @King_folake wrote online.
@King_folake feels the university was dishonest about the program’s accreditation status during her studies. She said there are reportedly over 100 affected graduates across two graduation classes who are impacted. She is seeking answers and accountability from Redeemers University to remedy the situation affecting her career and livelihood.
At the time of filing this news, @King_folake has put her Twitter on private mode, and all efforts to speak with school authorities were unsuccessful.
Redeemer’s University is a private university in Ede, Osun, off Ibadan-Osogbo Road, Osun State, Nigeria. Established in 2005, the university is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
TheNigeriaLawyer had previously published a list on May 20th, 2023 of university faculties approved by the Council of Legal Education for admission into the one-year Law School program.
The published list was signed by the Secretary of the Council and the Director of Administration, confirming the approved faculties.
