The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja has fixed May 10, 2023, to continue hearing on the petition filed by the Labour Party and it’s Presidential Candidate Peter Obi challenging the presidential election.

The tribunal had also adjourned pre-hearing of the petition of the Action Peoples Party (APP) challenging the presidential election till Wednesday, May 10th , 2023.
The petition filed by the Obi and APP has Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents.
The adjournment of APP’s to enable the party, to raise issues for determination by the Tribunal.
APP and its presidential candidate, Simon Nnadi, had prayed the tribunal to disqualify the president-elect,alleging that he is not qualified to contest in the election.
Obi and LP want the tribunal to determine that the 2nd Respondent (Tinubu) having failed to score one-quarter of the votes cast at the Presidential Election in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja was not entitled to be declared and returned as the winner of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023

The nomination of Kashim Shettima as vice presidential candidate was defective as he did not withdraw from his nomination as a senatorial candidate of his party before accepting to serve as vice presidential candidate of Tinubu.
That the president-elect was not duly elected by the majority of the lawful votes cast at the time of the election. They alleged that he was linked to drug trafficking by US court.
