Barely a week after unknown gunmen kidnapped a prominent lawyer,  Jude Oguejiofor in Anambra, his aged father has also died from trauma over his son’s abduction.

Family sources said Oguejiofor’s father was in stable health condition until last Saturday when he collapsed and died suddenly shortly after receiving the devastating news that his son had been murdered by the kidnappers.

“The man was healthy while his son was in captivity but the trauma from Jude’s abduction proved too much for him to bear after we were informed of his death,” a family member noted.

The kidnappers had initially abducted Jude alongside his medical doctor brother while they were visiting their parents in Orsumogu community of Anambra state. His brother was released while Jude was held and later killed.

Oguejiofor, father of the victim, could not recover from the shock over his son’s kidnapping incident which ended with his murder, resulting in his eventual death.

The Oguejiofor family and Orsumogu community are currently mourning the double tragedy and loss.
