Dr. Olowononi, the Secretary of the branch, allegedly employed this method under the directive of Monday Adjeh, further fueling accusations of manipulation. Dissatisfied members allege that the outgoing Executive Committee had premeditated plans to rig the election by tampering with the voters’ list.
To address the attendance record-keeping issue, a past Chairman had donated a notebook, which was refused by the current Executive Committee. Instead, loose sheets were used, creating a convenient opportunity for manipulation. Critics argue that the loose sheets were often brought out after 5pm, when the venue started getting dark, making it difficult to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the attendance records. Consequently, many sheets reportedly failed to reach the secretariat for compilation, resulting in the exclusion of members who genuinely attended the meetings.
The revelation of the 118-person voters’ list has triggered outrage among the members, who are now rallying against its validity.
