Professor Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), has expressed grave safety concerns following an alleged arrest attempt at his church.

Prof. Ndifon claims unidentified “security personnel” tried to apprehend him during Sunday service at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Calabar.
In a harrowing account, Prof. Ndifon said the unknown individuals entered around 8:18am while he was serving as a warden. They informed the catechist they came to arrest someone but had no ID or warrant when pressed. The intruders fled before the priest and parishioners intervened.
Prof. Ndifon voiced alarm over the lack of proper identification, suspecting a link to his recent office sealing by UNICAL amidst sexual harassment allegations. He described the incident as threatening his life and necessitating speaking out.
While maintaining his readiness to appear before a legitimate panel, Prof. Ndifon contested the authority of the ongoing university investigation. He revealed taking legal action, stating he had not been officially invited.
The suspended Dean appealed to state, federal authorities and Nigerians to intervene, emphasizing his primary concern as safety during this tumultuous period.
With no clues on the identity of the mysterious figures, Prof. Ndifon remains vulnerable. His case has ignited tensions around abuse of power, due process and security at UNICAL.
