The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers and Public Relations Liaison Officers to seven commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force as part of efforts to strengthen strategic communication and improve access to verified police information.

The Force said the deployments were also intended to deepen engagement with the media, members of the public and other stakeholders, while promoting transparency and effective communication across police formations.

In a statement issued on Thursday, October 9, 2026, by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the police announced that SP Johnson A. Doghudje had been posted as Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5.

SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji, anipr, was posted as Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 11, Osogbo, and can be reached on 09152481510.

The IGP also approved the posting of DSP Imah Unwana Victor to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, NPF-NCCC. He can be reached on 08038281577.

At the Police Academy, POLAC, ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu was posted as Public Relations Officer and can be contacted on 07064684936.

ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu was posted to the Yobe State Police Command and can be reached on 08136394230.

The Force also announced the posting of ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi as Public Relations Liaison Officer at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Gombe State. He can be reached on 08130313033.

According to the statement, the postings form part of the ongoing efforts of the police leadership to strengthen strategic communication, improve public access to credible information and ensure more effective engagement between the Force, the media and the communities it serves.

The IGP charged the newly posted officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He also directed them to ensure the timely dissemination of verified information and maintain constructive engagement with journalists and members of the public.
