The former National Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association Joyce Oduah FICMC, said that the society looks up to lawyers, and in particular, the NBA, for the advancement of the rule of law and protection of fundamental human rights. 

Joyce made this remark on Wednesday, noting that Counsel must be conscientious in the performance of their duties. They owe it a duty to assist the court to arrive at a just decision.

“The NBA is seen as a watchdog against anarchy and executive lawlessness in Nigeria. 

“It is therefore important for us to increase our efforts in the area of public interest advocacy and litigation,” she said.
